What is Breast Cancer
Breast Cancer is one of the very common types of cancers which are very commonly prevalent amongst women of all ages. It is a tumor that starts with the haywire development of the breast cells that can either be malignant or benign. The malignant tumor is known as the group of cells that are cancerous and they invade the surrounding tissues and spread them eventually to the surrounding and distant areas of the body.
The benign breast lumps are those tumors that are not cancers, as the name suggests they are benign. However special tests have to be carried out to see if they are cancerous or not and it is advisable to remove them because they can turn into malignant tumors over the time. The breast cancer tumors can also be only the fibrosis or the cysts. Fibrosis are the scar tissues that are fluid-filled sacs, these can cause swelling and immense pain.
There are many different types of cancers, which can prevail as a combination of more than one type of cancers especially in the case of the breast cancer.
The most common type of cancer of the breast is the DCIS or the Ductal Carcinoma In Situ, this is a noninvasive type of breast cancer. It is a cancer of the ducts of the breast which do not spread out in the surrounding tissues. It is one of the very common and also the most easily curable types of cancer which is often very easily detected by a mammography.
The IDC or the Invasive Ductal Carcinoma is the most common type of cancer prevailing in the human breasts. It can also pass to the surrounding tissues, and the metastasize to spread it all over the body, making it very difficult to cure and treat successfully.
